Formed as an information sharing network for hazmat responders in 1992, the goal of CRHMRO is to minimize risk and impact of hazmat emergencies by integrating regional response training within coastal counties of Cal-EMA Region II. CRHMRO promotes coordinated hazmat response in the following ways:
- Meets monthly to identify "Lessons Learned" from actual hazmat responses
- Updates Hazardous Material Response Directory for Region II, including response teams
- Offers hazmat training including multi-day Hazardous Materials Transportation Conference first offered in 1999 and mutual aid agreements
It is the mission of the Coastal Region Hazardous Materials Response Organization (CRHMRO) to ensure that HazMat response resources and training are provided regionally to minimize the risk and impact of hazardous materials to the public, the environment and to property.
